Communities: Send us your leaders.
Leaders: Bring us your communities.
Are you in a community, government, business, or philanthropic organization interested in building local leadership capacity to bring the community together to plan and implement action that will address important community issues? Or, are you an individual interested in engaging your whole community to create a more prosperous, vibrant community? PCPN works from either of these scenarios to build local leadership capacity.
Leaders who know how to engage the whole system in planning and action in a way that builds genuine commitment are assets to the community, regardless of the vision or topic they wish to address. PCPN will prepare four leaders in each community to lead such an effort locally.
Leaders will:
- Attend a 4-day Leaders Workshop, where they will be trained in the Future Search methodology that will prepare them to plan and manage their local Prosperous Community Future Search conferences. Although the leaders themselves will not facilitate their own community conferences, learning and experiencing Future Search builds their own capacity to engage the community, and it helps them determine whether they are truly ready to lead their community through this process and the extent to which their community is ready.
- Be matched up with experienced conference facilitators/mentors and have preliminary planning conversations to establish supportive, professional relationships.
- Meet other leaders from across the country and establish themselves as a support system for their Prosperous Community work.
- Be supported by their facilitator/mentor as they identify and assemble their local planning committee, determine key stakeholders to participate, plan for and convene their Prosperous Community Future Search session, and monitor community progress on the plans they develop.
