Future Search The Network

PCPN Gets Underway with First National Sponsor

October 17 , 2006

National Ministries, American Baptist Churches USA, has contracted with the Future Search Network to make their Children in Poverty program the first participating initiative in FSN's Prosperous Communities, Prosperous Nation (PCPN) Program.   National Ministries is showing national leadership to address poverty by engaging its churches and ministry partners as community leaders who will prepare, plan for, and convene the whole system in a series of Future Searches focused on creating prosperous conditions for all children.

National Ministries is sponsoring eight communities in the first activity of PCPN, Local Leaders Capacity Building.  This involves identifying and preparing leader-teams in each community to plan for and convene successful Prosperous Children/Community Future Searches and tying them together as an action learning community.

FSN will be providing National Ministries with significant project management and strategic support, customized cohort-based Future Search training, establishing a learning community among them, and providing individualized local support as they move into their local planning/convening phase.

This partnership with National Ministries is an important one because it provides the American Baptist mission organization with a mechanism to translate their initiative for children into action and it represents an opportunity for the FSN to see just how big an impact a national, organized application of the Future Search principles, method, and Network can make on an important social issue.
